B. Contoh kalimat 

Dalam menunjukkan teladan untuk bentuk question tag maka terdapat beberapa peraturan yang telah ditetapkan dalam menciptakan question taq. adapun yang menjadi hukum dalam pembentukan kalimat question tag ialah sebagai berikut :

1. Jika statementnya  adalah  positif, maka question tag-nya harus berbentuk negatif .

Contoh:

1. She is very beautiful, is not she?

2. The grape is very is very sweet, isn’t it?

3. They are smart, aren’t they?

4. My friends is cute, isn’t she?

5. My bike is good,isn’t it?

2. Jika statementnya  adalah  negatif, maka question tag-nya positif.

Contoh:

1. The bike is not broken, is it?

2. Your boyfriend is not a driver,is he ?

3. The teacher is not coming, is he ?

4. My room is not really big, is it ?

5. The car is not very expensive, is it ?

3. Jika statementnya  adalah  menggunakan subjek I am, maka question tag-nya aren’t I. dan subjeknya I am not, maka question tag-nya am I.

Contoh:

1. I am very strong, aren’t I?

2. I am handsome, aren’t I?

3. I am not stupid, am I?

4. I am not a carpenter, am I?

5. I am not a playboy, am i?

4.  Jika statementnya memakai kata kerja (verb), maka tag nya memakai do/does untuk Verb 1 dan did untuk Verb 2.

Contoh:

1. You take my wallet, don’t you ?

2. He tries to take Mirna from my heart, doesn’t he?

3. Anna loves me so much, doesn’t she?

4. Gilang sing noah song, doesn’t he?

5. They play football, don’t they?

5. Jika statementnya   memakai modals, maka gunakan modals untuk question tag-nya. Khusus untuk modals have to, gunakan kata bantu do untuk question tag-nya.

Contoh:

1. She can play a guitar, can’t she?

2. He has to play a guitar now,  hasn’t he?

3. They will join us,willn’t they?

6.  Jika statementnya ialah  kata dengan arti negatif, menyerupai nobody, no one, seldom, nothing, hardly, barely, rarely, maka gunakan question tag positif.

Contoh:

1. Aldi seldom plays football, does he?

2. They rarely come on time,do they?

3. Nobody can help tmem, do they?

7. Jika statementnya  menggunakan subjekeveryone, everybody, someone, somebody, no one dan nobody, maka gunakan they dalam question tag.

Contoh:

1. Everyone has played the game,hasn’t they?

2. Someone takes her wallet, odn’t they?

3. Nobody comes to the stage, don’t they?

8.  Jika statementnya memakai  subjek everything, something, dan nothing, maka gunakan it dalam question tag.

Contoh:

1. Nothing is impossible, isn’t it?

2. Everything is fine,isn’t it?

3. Something will be over, won’t it?

9. Jika statementnya ialah  berupa perintah atau larangan, gunakan will you untuk question tag-nya.

Contoh:

1. Don’t make me sad, will you ?

2. Don’t be late, will you?

3. Don’t take my heart, will you?

10. Jika statementnya ialah  dimulai dengan let’s, maka question tag-nya ialah shall we.

Contoh:

1. Let’s play the stick, shall we?

2. Let’s put the plate, shall we?

3. Let’s begin to the next step, shall we?
